"Wear to work" or "career" dressing is far from dead and many of the Fall 19 shows are celebrating the modern Working Girl. The "power suit" has been dominating the runway with a strong 80's inspired shoulder and the statement coat is equally masculine inspired - think not only Melanie Griffith in Working Girl, but also Glenn Close in "The Jagged Edge".
The discussion about what women are wearing to work today is ongoing...The "casualization" of America is real... but I believe the tipping point is approaching where women will want to show their power and feminism again through modern suiting and new silhouettes. As millenials keep getting older and succeeding in their careers, they will want to dress assertively and look the part.
